I did this display to get in the mood for Halloween. It looks okay but the pictures are not good. As usual:)
I use my small collection of Gouda Pottery and some inexpensive candles and a plastic tray that I bought from Homesense and Walmart.
The gorgeous artworks are from Iran:))
It is funny when I first saw the bigger Gouda vase I had no idea about the maker and just the design appealed to me. It was at a silent auction and because of my weird taste, most of the items I wanted, I was the only bidder. So you could imagine my shock when the price kept going up and up for this particular vase. I ended up getting it but for more than double of what I originally anticipated to pay:)
Please find below a little bit of info about Gouda pottery if you are interested:
"Gouda, Holland, has been a pottery center since the seventeenth century. Two firms, the Zenith pottery, established in the eighteenth century, and the Zuid-Hollandsche pottery made the brightly colored art pottery marked Gouda from 1898 to about 1964. Other factories followed. Many pieces featured Art Nouveau or Art Deco designs. Gouda pieces often had a matte glaze and were mass-produced for the middle-class market. Pattern names in Dutch, listed here, seem strange to English-speaking collectors." This is fromKovels.com website.
I put together few interesting items for your review. Check them out!
Thank you so much for stopping by! But make sure you come back tomorrow!
